Spring Wind Herbs
At Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, medicinal herbs that have been prepared in the methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine are a major component of our herbal education program and a key ingredient in products we sell in our clinic.
Our supplier, Spring Wind, is well-known as the highest-quality source for such herbs in the United States. They make a point of having direct connection with the growers of the herbs, always maintaining transparency of sourcing. Many of their herbs are sourced locally to the United States, via their support of the Lilium Initiative nonprofit organization, which aids in avoiding excessive pesticide use, heavy metal contamination, and in sidestepping long-distance supply chain issues.
Spring Wind’s herbs are tested rigorously in several metrics. Several methods of pesticide and heavy metal testing are used, including both those done in-house and by an independent agency, and the only result accepted is ND: None Detected. Herbs are also verified to be correct in species and in preparation by methods both traditional (via the standards of the classical materia medica) and modern (microscopic examination and chemical laboratory testing).
