Course Description:
This course is an introduction to acupoint and meridian stimulation through the application of Qi to assess energy deficiency, blockage, and excess in the subtle biofields of the human body. Development of personal qi awareness and hands on skills is described and demonstrated. Applications and protocols of many different gemstone spheres to amplify specific energies in both the practitioner and patient are covered for many common conditions.

Biography
Dr. Hazel is a licensed naturopathic physician who has been in family practice since 1998.
Dr. Hazel has been a full-time professor of clinical and academic studies at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine for a decade and served as Interim Chair of General Medicine and on the SCNM Board of Trustees. She has taught in massage schools and medical imaging programs, and has additional training in acupuncture, Qi Gong, Oriental Medicine and various massage techniques from the Oregon School of Massage and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She is a certified Yoga Instructor and registered with Yoga Alliance. She is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine’s Qi Gong Certificate Program. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from The National College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Through private practices, formal classroom teaching, teaching in medical centers, seminars and talks she has taught and treated thousands of students and patients over two decades in natural medicine.
Course Format & Summary
This Two-day Workshop will cover multiple protocols and techniques to address common health conditions by applying acupressure and gemstone spheres and rondels to traditional acupuncture points.
Detailed discussions on protocols to address headaches, joint pain, body pain, sinus conditions, GI conditions, fatigue, eye conditions, infections, menstrual irregularity, and pain, as well as other disorders will be demonstrated and discussed. Some demonstrations and discussions on developing Qi sensitive hands and skills that require only the hands are covered.
Gemstones are not needed to attend the workshop but will be needed practice particular protocols.
Gemstone Spheres, Rondels, or rounded chips Primary Focus:
Optical Quartz Spheres
Lavender Spheres:
6mm and 8mm are the most used sizes
4mm are less commonly used, but very applicable to children
10 mm and 12 mm will be discussed
12 – 16 mm Lavender spheres are ideal for running meridians, although 10 mm spheres can be substituted, especially for smaller bodies.
Sodalight Spheres, 8mm or 10mm or 12 mm
Sugalite Spheres, 8mm or 10mm or 12 mm
Citrine rounded chips (minimum of 2, 12 or more is recommended for Back Shu treatments to release pathogenic qi and open the back muscles)
Aquamarine rounded chips (minimum of 2, 10 or more recommended for full body yin rejuvenation therapy of stiff joint treatments)
Mother of Pearl sphere, 8 or 10 mm
